How Much Funding?

– Up to 50%, to a maximum of $300,000 over 24 months

WHO QUALIFIES?

– Either the SME applicant or the testing site applicant Must demonstrate a significant legal and physical presence in Alberta
– Relationship between SME and testing site Must not create a conflict of interest

SME Eligibility:
– For profit
– Less than 500 full time employees
– Less than $50M in annual gross revenues
– Legal entity with up to date corporate filings
– Possess a health innovation, ready for clinical/real world testing

Testing site eligibility:
– for-profit, not-for-profit organization or government affiliated entity
– Legal entity
– Possess resources and infrastructure required for supporting the proposed project

Eligible Activities & Expenditures

– Commercialization of novel health technology that has the potential to significantly enhance patient care while simultaneously creating health, social and economic impact for Alberta
– Collaboration between SMEs and real-world testing sites in carrying out implementation projects or clinical trials of innovative health technologies
– Projects must be ready for clinical/real world testing

Project eligibility:
– At least one testable business hypothesis based on evaluation criteria of key purchasing decision-makers or include a testable clinical hypothesis that will support regulatory approval process
– Sound methodology that will test hypotheses and inform any barriers to adoption
– Completed within the 24 month term
