What Is CAP – Farm Technology Program?

The Farm Technology Program is a program that supports the adoption of innovative technology that minimizes agricultural waste, optimizes farm efficiency, and encourages the adoption of best management practices in farm security. The program has two streams: the Farm Technology Stream, which supports the adoption of innovative technology that minimizes agricultural waste and optimizes farm efficiency, and the Farm Security Stream, which supports producers in their efforts to secure business assets by encouraging the adoption of best management practices in farm security.

CAP – Farm Technology Program Overview

The Farm Technology Program is a program under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership that supports the adoption of innovative technology and best management practices in farm technology and security. The program has two streams: Farm Technology Stream and Farm Security Stream. The Farm Technology Stream supports the adoption of innovative technology that minimizes agricultural waste and optimizes farm efficiency. The Farm Security Stream supports producers in their efforts to secure business assets by encouraging the adoption of best management practices in farm security.

How Much Funding?

50% up to $48K for the Farm Technology Stream and $2K for the Farm Security Stream. Maximum grant amount per applicant is $50K.

WHO QUALIFIES?

Primary producers operating in Alberta that is responsible for input costs or agricultural crops or livestock producing at least $25K worth of farm commodities annually, and has, or is working towards getting, a Environmental Farm Plan certificate.

Eligible Activities & Expenditures

This program supports the adoption of innovative technology that minimizes agricultural waste, optimizes farm efficiency, and encourages the adoption of best management practices in farm security.

Eligible expenditures includes the adaption of various sensors and technologies that will result in one of the prior listed objectives (Eligible activities)
